The Editorial Board of Linguistic Studies conducts thorough plagiarism checks of all submitted manuscripts in order to maintain high standards of scholarly ethics.
1. Screening procedure:
each manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a mandatory originality check using specialized software (StrikePlagiarism);
the screening covers not only textual overlap but also the accuracy of citations, the presence of self-plagiarism, and any borrowings without proper reference to original sources.
2. Evaluation criteria:
the Editorial Board establishes an acceptable level of textual originality (recommended at no less than 80–85% original content, depending on the specifics of the research);
the use of ideas, statements, or results of other researchers without proper citation is considered unacceptable.
3. Response to detected plagiarism:
if indications of plagiarism or excessive improper borrowing are identified at the screening stage, the manuscript is rejected without the right to resubmission, and the author is notified in writing;
if concealed plagiarism is discovered after publication, the Editorial Board acts in accordance with international COPE protocols, which may result in the official retraction of the article.
4. Authors’ responsibility:
authors bear personal responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided and the originality of the submitted materials;
by submitting a manuscript to the journal, the author confirms that the work has not been previously published and is not under simultaneous consideration by other journals.
