Inflection of pronominal adjectives: paradigmological description

Abstract

The article provides a paradigmatic description of the inflection of pronominal adjectives in modern Ukrainian, which is significantly more variable than the inflection of non-pronominal adjectives. The types of declension of pronominal adjectives are generalized according to the following parameters of paradigm structure: changeability or unchangeability by case; degree of similarity of inflections to the inflection of autosemantic adjectives; the presence in the inflection of pronominal adjectives of features of the declension of autosemantic adjectives of the hard, soft, and mixed groups; the complexity of the word-formation structure of pronominal adjectives; the realization of the vocative case; the presence of variant case forms associated with the interposition of a preposition.
